Nils Aubrey

Sells houses that were designed for their plot, and is straightforward about the ones that were not.

Nils studied architecture, practised for four years and decided he preferred the buildings to the process. He joined Veyrand in 2011 and opened the Elsmoor desk two years later.

He writes his own particulars, which is why they name the architect, the year and the structural system rather than describing a house as stunning. Owners in the cooperative tend to instruct him because he can explain what they built.

He also handles plot acquisition for buyers who intend to build, which in Elsmoor is a slower and more interesting job than it sounds.

How Nils works

  • Name the architect

If a house was designed by somebody, the particulars say who and when. If it came out of a catalogue, they say that too.

  • Covenant before offer

The Elsmoor covenant governs height, felling and lighting. Every buyer receives it before making an offer, because it changes what the plot is worth.
